new stuff and shiny objects

Ah internets, is there anything you can't do?

In recent news, i got bioshock 2 in the mail from gamefly on thursday, and now it's monday and i already dropped it in the mail to go back. Not saying that it was short, but it is proof that it isn't any longer or shorter than the original. However, it failed in a few other key places that make the game merely passable rather the perfect successor to the "'shock" series (i count system shock 1 & 2 for obvious reasons).

First of all, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the premise, being a big daddy was pretty cool, and let me mow down splicers rather strategicly approaching one at a time like i did in the original. The downside is that now, you have to take 3 to 4 minutes setting up trapps and using up health and eve hypos trying to set up for when your lil'sister is about to harvest adam. I hated this aspect, and found it easy to die so many damn times that i eventually gave up twowards the end and simply saved the lil'sisters outright. Less adam, but less hassle for me over all.  Lastly, is that alot of the new plasmids either make the game entirely too easy, or to strange to truely enjoy. I found that the new trap plasmid was cool in novelty, but having to use them in practical application, was pointless and more trouble than it's worth.

In other news, i have a new side-project. called BrainBacon, for your perusal. Its a playground for my creative writing stuff, critiques and ideas are accepted, but the most part, just enjoy it.
